Bonar Hall was constructed in 1977 to serve the University of Dundee and individuals of Dundee and district.
The Hall was named after Sir Herbert Bonar, a member of a well known Jute manufacturing family in Scotland, who provided the funding for the building. Sir Herbert was eager that the Hall must be a benefit to the regional individuals in addition to the University, and in this his desires have been fulfilled.
Bonar Hall is a preferred location for all kinds of social events, formal or informal. It was intentionally built to be flexible, so that a wide variety of functions all look equally in your home in Bonar Hall. It is often used as a location for weddings, christenings, conferences, suppers and parties.
